Important step in order to ensure the auspicious HiPIMS sputter technology
A substantially better adhesion of the tool coating can be achieved by the High Power Pulsed Magnetron Sputter (HiPIMS) technology. The interest of the experts worldwide for this pioneering further development of the sputtering process is accordingly high.
A special power supply is important for the production of the ion pulse in the megawatt range. Chemfilt developed such a device for the HiPIMS sputtering procedure and formulated essential patents for the auspicious technology.
With contract from 09 September, 2008 CemeCon takes over the knowledge, patents as well as the complete technology of Chemfilt for the production of the High Power Pulsed Sputter Technology.
CemeCon has constantly developed the sputter technology during the last twenty years that any material compositions of hard materials can be deposited smoothly and adhesively on modern precision tools. This has influenced the tool coating technology considerably.
With the acquisition of Chemfilt technology and the belonging patents CemeCon can further extend its lead in sputter technology. This step will decisevely contribute to ensure the CemeCon HiPIMS technology for the future.
CemeCon has been forcing the development of the HiPIMS technology from the beginning. Several
CC800®/9 HiPIMS coating systems were already realised and delivered to well-known research institutions worldwide.
