Coating thickness

PVD

The appropriate coating thickness is selected to a large extent on the basis of the initial parameters

For finishing operations, care is taken to produce the sharpest possible cutting edge with high wear-resistance.

If tools are used in roughing operations, slightly greater wear volume is often permissible as this can then be converted 1:1 into tool life.

The separation of the coating processes for the tool groups (cutting insert, end milling tool, hob milling tool) means that the requirements of the tool geometries and surface conditions can be better met.



CVD diamond

The same is true of the CVD diamond coatings.
